I absolutely cannot fathom how we are here already.

First breeding announcement of the season. Probably the breeding I am most excited about this year. Happened this week and I could not be more excited to confirm.

This is a repeat breeding that produced our Beautiful Wolfivan Midnight Gem and I cannot wait to see what this repeat produces.

Now that I am somewhat recovered 🤪

I had another great week at the OC Fair…

I will make a seperate post for all our other wonderful placings.

First though I would like to say how extremely proud I am of Wolfivan Midnight Gem.

Gemma was 2 x Reserve Grand Champion in stiff SoCal competition. This doe is just so steady and rock solid. She is structurally a stand out, puts it in the pail with an extreme will to milk. This was her 2nd show bag in a little over a week. Came off this show day still trucking. I would take a whole herd of Gemma’s any day of the week. I have kept all but 1 of Gemma’s kids to date. And that one is placed strategically close 😂

Both of her ff daughters freshened with beautiful udders and seem to be following in mommas hoof prints.

I am reluctantly offering her 2025 buck kid sired by Urban Acres w-kb Fire Whiskey *B ( son of the 2023 Reserve National champion and the littermate brother to the 2024 national champion) 2024 spotlight sale buck.

Home for just a couple days then gearing up to head to OC Fair.

We cannot wait to share some awesome news from Ventura.

First the Junior show-

🥇HJ Summit Farm True Love- was 1st place senior kid and Grand Champion Jr Doe in ring one then scratched

🥈HJ Summit Farm Oleanna- was 2nd place senior kid and Reserve Grand champion.

🥇HJ summit Farm Summer Raine - Was first place intermediate kid in both rings and Grand Champion Junior doe in ring 2.

HJ Summit Farm Enchanted Honey- was first place Junior kid in both rings. I absolutely love this Tennessee honey daughter. She just needs a little more time to mature.

We had several other wonderful placings

Milkers

🥈SG Wolfivan WP Patchouli 1 x Reserve grand Champion.

🥈Hj summit farm Tulip- was reserve Grand champion as a 2 year old. Another Tennessee Honey Daughter

🥇🥈IlenesRascals TR Luna was 1 x Grand champion and 1 x reserve grand champion. This doe is a 5 year old on extended lactation since Jan 2025.

HJ summit Farm lone River was 2 x 1st place yearling milker.

Wolfivan Cupid shuffle was 2x first place 3 year old.

Yet again we had so many other fantastic placings I won’t list them all.

The downside to always being in the ring. Is a lack of pictures. Sadly I only have a few pictures taken after the show. I am so proud of my girls

A truly emotional show at the fair!!

I know some will say it’s just a reserve what’s so special about that?

9 years and an entire legacy behind this beautiful doe that’s what. A victim of being in her prime during covid (no shows). She unfortunately liked to eat a little too much and was pretty fluffy the last couple years. We were finally able to milk off some of that extra fluff and look what happened.

Every doe in both lineups and most of the does in the Jr lineup. Trace back to Patchouli either daughter, granddaughter or great Granddaughter. How special of a memory is that?

A doe that has such a huge impact on my herd and I am certain will for years to come.

She was reserve to her own granddaughter. How special is that after all we breed for improvement right?

What a true blessing SG Wolfivan WP Patchouli 3*M has been.

Huge thank you to Renee Wolfivan Ranch for the opportunity to own such a special doe. Who has and will continue to have such a huge impact on the breed.

This one makes me sick thinking about it. Such a nice genetic cross. Unfortunately for me he is a tight linebreeding on the genetics of pretty much my entire herd 😭. So he hasn’t gotten much use here.

I will be asking for a signed first right of refusal contract on him. I won’t be heartbroken if he stays but would also love to see him getting some use. He so far has 2 daughters both ff that have very nice Fore udders (nice udders overall but the fore is standout for sure). Nice level top lines, nice front ends and rear leg angulation. He also has 4 doe kids from this year displaying the same structural traits. I do not currently have any pictures of his daughters. I am hoping to get some at the next couple shows. As you can see this guy is backed by a lot of nationals success.
