This spritz focuses on fresh ingredients and highlights small-batch fermented Amaro Hibiscus for a quick, easy, and vibrant cocktail that is a summertime staple in our house. The Strawberry Luck Duck is simply a Gin & Amaro-based Spritz served in a tall glass over ice. We like using strawberries and basil to add vibrant fresh flavors to balance the drink, as they are ingredients we often have on hand. No one wants to make a special trip to the store for that one ingredient you don’t have! While you can use any Gin you’d like, we support our local distilleries here in San Diego as much as possible and used @old_harbor Gin from their Adventure Series for this cocktail. You could definitely swap in your preferred White Rum or Vodka for this cocktail to suit your preference! 2 – 3 Strawberries 2 Basil Leaves 3/4 oz Lemon Juice 3/4 oz Simple Syrup 1/4 oz Amaro Hibiscus 1 1/2 oz Old Harbor Gin Seltzer Water or Prosecco to top Muddle all the ingredients except bubbles in a cocktail shaker. Shake well with ice. Strain and pour with Hawthorne strainer (to prevent clogging cocktail strainer) into a tall glass prepared with ice.
