Since bringing our exotic stall barn online in December 2024, we’ve had a number of ranch owners reach out after seeing videos we’ve shared on Instagram and TikTok. Many have been interested in building their own facilities and have had questions about our design, layout, and what we’ve learned throughout the process.

To make the information easier to find, I’ve decided to start consolidating those videos on YouTube.

This latest video is a complete walk-through of our stall barn, including the stalls, gates, water systems, cameras, and many of the features that have helped make the facility work for our operation.

The product you would see today resembles what we built back then, but includes numerous changes and modifications as we continue to try and have the perfect stall barn.

If you’re considering building a stall barn for exotic deer and antelope, I hope these videos provide some useful ideas and save you a few headaches along the way. After you’ve had a chance to watch the videos, feel free to reach out with any questions. You can comment below, send me a message, or contact us through our website.

The Gen 2 Trap Controller is a major step forward from our original design, built around a fully wireless RF platform to give you more control, flexibility, and reliability in the field.

One of the key upgrades is the transition to a completely RF-based system. This allows your camera not only to control trap gates, but also to wirelessly trigger feeders—either inside the trap or at remote feed locations across your ranch. This added capability gives you a powerful tool to actively manage animal movement and behavior in real time.

On our own ranch, every trap is now equipped with two camera systems—one dedicated to the drop gates, and a second wirelessly connected to a feeder. This setup allows us to feed on demand, focusing feed activity on days when our crew is available for loadouts. It also gives us the ability to strategically control the trap—whether that means drawing animals in or pushing them out.

We’ve even used the feed-on-demand feature to clear traps when needed. If there are too many animals or the wrong mix of species, triggering the feeder startles the animals and encourages them to exit. From there, we can monitor the trap and selectively drop the gate when the desired animals are in position.

The Generation 2 Trap Controller delivers unmatched flexibility with its wireless capability—allowing you to trigger drop gates or control gates and feeders up to 300 yards away. Its compact, portable design makes deployment fast and easy in the field, all powered by a standard 12-volt 7Ah deer feeder battery. Each unit includes an EIOT SIM card, with connectivity plans available for roughly $12/month or less—giving you full control over your service with no required subscription from us.
