I seem to be having an issue with my posts! I spend the time to write out a post and only the picture is showing up! A little disappointing, but I can't be thoughtful or clever multiple times in a day 😅

Anyway, the kids cracked all the extra eggs for me to get in the freeze dryer. We didn't count, but I'm guessing it was close to 45 dozen!

Then a possum has decided it wants to live in my brooder. We have pulled it from the garage 4 times in the last week. Might end up adopting it at this point, or maybe delivering it to Angela Self because they like her so much.

Thank you for the kind wishes everyone! After a short NICU stay, baby and I are home now and adjusting to life with 5 (!?!?!) kids.

I will get back to collecting hatching eggs likely next week. Then I will eventually get more in the incubator soon after.

Thank you to my awesome friends who stepped in to care for the animals after our emergency early delivery. Also a shout out to my husband, who does not touch my incubators, who had to put eggs on lockdown for me while I was in the hospital.

On that note, a bunch of northern bobwhites have hatched while I was away.

Yes, I was thinking about quail chores and orders I hadn't filled while I was in surgery 😅. Sometimes you can't turn that stuff off.

Not quite the incubator we are use to, but the most important one I've ever seen!

I will not be answering messages or filling orders for a bit. A little ahead of schedule, but we are doing alright! I apologize to anyone who placed a shipping order this week, I will not be available to ship for a couple weeks or so.

Welcome to the world little one!

I was sitting here wondering why no one ever orders Italian hatching eggs off my website... turns out I never listed them 😆

Years ago I started an Italian Celadon breeding program to go along with my Navy themes. They were going to be my Blue and Gold Collection. In 3 years, I have produced 10 hens that lay blue eggs. Those offspring either laid regular eggs or laid eggs with unhatchable defects.

I have not given up hope yet! It has been on the back burner, but definitely still on the stove.

Hey friends!

Tomorrow at the Backroads Certified Farmers Market will be our last market until the end of July (at a minimum). I will be bringing everything I've got so people can stock up. I will have fresh quail eggs, pickled quail eggs, freeze dried candy/fruit, as well as frozen quail, chicken, partridge, rabbit, and pet food.

After today, if you need something it will need to be picked up from the house or our wonderful friends at Angela’s Eccentric Kitchen . Our next batch of chickens starts in July, so this is all we have for now.

Hope to see you tomorrow!
