Hey friends!

I have too much going on between this week due to some flooding at the farm and the demo in my home kitchen. Unfortunately I won't make it to the Santee Certified Farmer's Market this week. If you text me your order, I can drop it off with Angela’s Eccentric Kitchen or meet you there in the evening.

Right now I still plan on being at Brew Coffee Spot this Saturday!

I love my GQF brooders, except how chicks rush the door when I open it. It was pretty easy to figure out what these two wanted.

We found a leak in the kitchen last week that put it out of commission for the foreseeable future. There are fans and a dehumidifier running nonstop and the room is about 30 degrees warmer than the rest of the house thanks to the plastic sheeting.

Today the skies opened up and poured all over us in the last 10 minutes of the farmers market. It came on so quickly with thunder, lighting, and strong wind. Luckily I got help tossing everything in to the truck and baby didn't get too wet!

I came home grumbling about everything being soaked and my super smart husband (no he didn't write this post) put it all in the "dehydrator room" for me. This is actually very fortunate because it will keep my stuff from getting moldy.

Once Tropical Storm Rachel passes, I will get more eggs in the incubator. I already have orders for Italians and Silvers. What else should I get in there?

If he sees his shadow, do we have more months of this El Nino weather?

I am so done with this heat. I am not even incubating right now because I don't want it to heat up my house.

Looks like we are getting rain this weekend, so hopefully that will drop the heat. The rain brings its own set of problems!

This guy figured out how to get out (and back in) to his cage. I haven't the slightest idea how. He likes to get caught in my hair, usually when my hand are full.

What should I name him?

Today I am happy to announce a new Collection available on my website!

If you have seen us around the markets, you may have noticed our infant was born with a clubbed foot. What you may not know, is our oldest also had a clubbed foot when she was younger. We have fantastic medical care through the military, so we want to give back to an organization that provides corrective care for children in other countries.

For every dozen purchased through the O-Club, we will donate $5 to Hope Walks. The eggs for these orders will be chosen by my oldest daughter, so you could get anything!

Scroll past this one if you don't want to read about family and farm life drama, because we have been feeling it for the last couple months. I'm hoping to go back to quail and egg information eventually.

When it rains it pours! My van has been in the shop for engine trouble, turns out its from rat damage to the wiring. I did not learn enough curse words in the Navy to describe how I feel about rats.

This weekend we also realized our garbage disposal has been leaking underneath the sink and likely in to the wall. Unsure how long that has been happening. I will not be at the Santee Certified Farmer's Market tomorrow because I have a contractor coming out to assess the damage. I will be dropping by later in the evening, so let me know if you have an order for anything!

My son's is hosting a fundraiser this Friday to replace the faded flags his school has. I am so incredibly proud of this kid. He noticed on 9-11 that one flag was faded and the other was torn and decided to do something about it. I will be there showing my support and will not be at the Sharp Grossmont Hospital market that day. Any extra funds they raise is going to go to their Veterans Day event.

I will be at the Brew Coffee Spot this Saturday. So if you can brave the heat I would love to see you there!
