Today’s the day! Likely the biggest IPA anyone in the Seattle area has attempted and with the help of and I think we did a pretty damn good job. Draft will go live in the Stoup tasting room at 3, cans will be available outside in the orange container from 3-6. 🚨 2/13/26 Release Details! 🚨

A few months back, while BreakThru was in the midst of a 9 month shutdown due to changing the address of its license, we teamed up with two of the best in business when it comes to producing great hazy, hoppy beers, and

A three way collab of epic proportions took off, knowledge was shared, recipes were built, and Denver and Houston were blessed with two of the finest Triple IPAs of 2025. Well some time has passed, the licensing hold up completed, and now it’s Seattle’s turn to experience “We’ll Carry On”!

Drawing from what we learned about the first two iterations we took the already sturdy base and decided to crank it up to 10….well actually more like 14 in this case. We present to you, Seattle’s version of We’ll Carry On, a Double Mash, QDH Quintuple IPA clocking in at 14% abv. Hopped with Citra, Nelson, Nectaron, and Galaxy at a rate of just over 10lbs of hops per barrel this monster of an IPA pours a glowing yellow/gold, with aromas of peach and apricot bursting from the glass. Notes of pineapple dole whip, vanilla dusted marshmallows, and mango smoothie follow encompassing you in a big, bold, decadent hop drinking experience.

Cans and draft pours will be available BALLARD starting at 3PM FRIDAY, 2/13/26. This beer will not be for sale before 3PM*****

Cans will be sold as singles, with limits (subject to change at any time) placed based on batch yield, turnout, and inventory as the day progresses. I will be in the orange shipping container from 3-6, and afterwards if cans are still available, they will be left to be purchased via Stoup’s tasting room. Draft pours will be available at the Stoup tasting room bar starting at 3pm. We’ve been getting some DMs about our upcoming release of DDH Double Riwak’n in regards to it being a Double IPA as opposed to our previous few releases, labeled Hop Saturated Ales. We figured this was a great opportunity to explain ourselves, and this “new” emerging style. A hazy IPA and a Hop Saturated Ale are not the same thing. At least not for BreakThru. It’s not a marketing ploy, it’s not rebranding an existing product, it’s a different style of Hoppy, hazy ales entirely.

Personally to achieve the level of saturation I’m looking for I don’t think it’s achievable below an abv of high 7’s to low 8’s (ex 7.8%-8.3%) and can go up into the double digits abv’s as more malt, more alcohol, more body allows to pack in more hop expression without becoming astringent and off putting, to an extent of course. Now even though a double ipa falls into that same abv range, nearly every other factor differs between the two as they have different goals imo. Water chemistry and overall hop load hold the most stark differences when I’m writing these two styles of hazy beers. A double ipa should be aromatic, bold, and flavorful. A Hop Saturated Ale should be all those things, but deliver a more intense sensory experience, leaving you with a lingering, saturated feeling on your palate between sips. And no, I’m not talking about hop burn, that’s something else entirely.

Funny enough, I recall the description of the series of beers BreakThru has released called Hop Soup, the first version released in February of 2024. “Hop Soup is a series of hop saturated India Pale Ales featuring rotating varieties of hops in each batch” Don’t get me wrong, coining the term belongs to the one and only but I’ve been intentionally writing recipes this way for a couple years now as well. The takeaway? Not all hazy ipa is built the same. Just like a west coast ipa isn’t an American ipa, a white ipa, a brut ipa, a red ipa, a cold ipa, or a black ipa…you get the point by now I think. Buy into it, don’t, do as you please. But hopefully now this allows for some clarification on what to expect when you see our beers labeled a certain way 🍻

It’s been 5 months since the last BreakThru release, did you miss us? We sure missed you! Hard to believe so much time has passed but after an extensively drawn out licensing process we are loaded up and ready to start consistently delivering our signature hoppy delights month after month!
