We were looking for a dish that both complimented the malty Rough Draft Freudian Sip Strong Ale, but also could cut through the strong ale aspect of the beer. We were able to do this by taking classic fall items like black mission figs, frisse salad greens, and combining it with salty pancetta, topp...

Stone's been telling the world for years they're not worthy of their beers...now they're just rubbing it in.  To celebrate the 13th Anniversary of Arrogant Bastard Ale Stone has bestowed on the world Lukcy Bastard.  Lukcy Bastard is a deliciously masochistic blend of Arrogant Bastard, Oaked Arrogant...

Pairing beer with food is good. Cooking with the beer you're drinking is even better. Beer can be a flavorful braising liquid to take your short ribs to the next level. You're going to want a beer with some serious body and malt, and Ballast's Black Marlin does the trick. We decided to turn our slow...

Have you ever heard of Sculpin IPA from Ballast Point Brewery? Well if you haven't let me enlighten you. Sculpin is an american style IPA out of San Diego, CA. Not only did Sculpin win the Gold Medal at the 2010 World Beer Cup for best international IPA, but it is also rated the best American style IPA on beeradvocate.com. We're happy to let you know that come Nov. 1st you'll be able to build yourself a nice six pack of 22oz. bottles on our website with a few of these epic beers in it. We'll also be offering most of the other great beers in the Ballast Point line up including the award winning Calico Amber, and Black Marlin Porter. And when Ballast Point puts out their specialty releases we'll be working hard to get our hands on those as well. They have had some exceptional specialty beers in the past. Like they're Habanero Sculpin, and Fathom IPL (India Pale Lager) which also one a Gold Medal at the 2010 World Beer Cup, and helped secure Ballast Point a tie for Best Brewery in the World in 2010. We're happy to share :)

Thanks to everyone that has ‘Liked’ us. We like you too! Here’s a little bit about us for those not in the know yet.

Thinking of the question “About Us” or what makes CBC tick brings a flood of answers and starting points to mind. There was the fateful moment on a car ride in December of 2008 when my brother and I both chimed at the same time that the Craft Beer Industry is were we wished we could work. At that time we thought we’d like to brew, not sell beer, and got our first home brew kit from the Home Brew Mart (Ballast Point). What came of it was S*x Blaster, a hopped up porter, the first in many attempts at brewing. Our good friend and now business partner, Bill, has since taken off running with home brewing. This makes it necessary to create any excuse to swing by his place and help him make room for more beer by storing his finished products in my belly.

Bill, PJ, and I brewed and researched the beer industry for over a year seeking a possible way to start a business before we had our “A-ha” moment. While Bill and I were on a ride from our apartments in Pacific Beach to Trails State Park to surf a new idea began to percolate. We would start an online beer club, but one were members could select the beer THEY wanted to try. By the time Bill and I found ourselves back on shore we where set on our new idea. That was October of 2010. While we decided that creating a website where beer lovers all over could access San Diego beers, we quickly learned that navigating the red tape to get going wouldn’t be over night.

Boom, goes the dynamite!! Then came now. After lots of searching, and multiple dead end,s here we are ready to launch the first version of our site November 1st. While the site we have in progress allows our members to select and queue up beers (similar to Netflix), rate beers, select a package tier/price level, and more, our first launch will be a bit held back. We’ll get back to you with more on what will be launched first as we progress toward November. But, if not in November shortly after, we’ll be including food pairings written by some of our great San Diego restaurants and will also drop some knowledge about up coming events, what we’re doing/trying, and random beer thoughts and info.

To the three of us it’s awesome to be this close to getting these great beers out to you!! We can’t wait to see your comments and reviews on our site, hopefully written while enjoying a tasty brew.

Always, feel free to email, Facebook, or call us with questions or comments. Beer Rules!!
