San Fernando, California – Karoun Dairies, a recognized leader in specialized Mediterranean and Hispanic-style dairy products, announces a series of exceptional victories at the two largest international dairy competitions of 2026.

Karoun Dairies wins victories at the American Cheese Society and World Dairy Expo contests.

Karoun Dairies notched seven distinctions at two of the industry’s largest competitions.

At American Cheese Society 2026, the company received first place in the Fresh Unripened Cheeses category for its panela, a traditional queso fresco. Karoun Mediterranean Labne received a silver medal among Strained Cultured Products, while its marinated string cheese earned second place in the Cheese Specialties category. Awarded third place in the flavored yogurts division was its Parmalat Cremoso creamy honey yogurt.

At World Dairy Expo 2026, Karoun Dairies was awarded a gold medal for its Village Touma whole-milk cheese in the Specialty Cheese class, with second- and third-place honors for Karoun Mediterranean Labne in Cultured Dairy products and string cheese in Specialty Cheese class, respectively.

"These seven distinctions reflect our unwavering commitment to excellence, authenticity and innovation. Each Karoun product tells a story of tradition and technical mastery,” said Rostom Baghdassarian, CEO of Karoun Dairies. “Karoun's victories at both the American Cheese Society and World Dairy Expo competitions demonstrate that specialty dairy products can achieve world-class recognition while maintaining authentic, traditional recipes. Founded in 1992, Karoun Dairies manufactures and distributes specialty ethnic food and beverage products including cheeses, yogurts, spreads and dips. A subsidiary of Lactalis USA, the company operates a distribution center in San Fernando, Calif., and a manufacturing facility in Turlock, Calif.
