Panna Green tea is unique for a couple of reasons. The first is that it's a steamed green tea and the second is that it is harvested and processed in small batches. Both are unusual for Darjeeling teas, which are most commonly black teas grown on large estates.

There are a couple of people involved in the production of a tea. The first is the grower and the second is the teamaker. The grower is the person or farm responsible for planting and caring for the tea plant, and when the time comes, harvesting the leaves. The teamaker is the person who determines the processing steps post-harvest and carries them out. Much like winemakers, teamakers are scientists and artists.
