Passionate Eater

Passionate Eater I started a food blog in 2005, after being inspired by one amazing (but no longer existing) food blog written by an American teaching English abroad in China.

Currently living in San Francisco, I have called New Orleans, Los Angeles, and rural Arizona my homes--my heart belongs to all of those regions, and I hope to share my love for these regions with you. It was the first food blog I had ever seen. It just took a few hours of looking at her blog to spark a fire inside me, to document my own passion-my passion for food. And yes, that open mouth on the

header is mine. My blog is my food outlet. Join me to embark upon a journey to experience the "Joy of Eating!" I hope to share my ideas about entertaining, pass on my family's time-honored recipes to you, experience local restaurants, and "cook up" some fun for your growling stomachs!

Try seasoning popcorn with (1) furikake, (2) creole seasoning and Tabasco, or (3) parmesan cheese and let me know what you think!

Like most people, my "go-to" snack is popcorn. If it is not smothered in butter or margarine, laden with salt, or coated in a hard candy shell, it is a healthy, ethereal, and satisfying alternative to greasy and sugary snacks. And it usually is a staple in everyone's pantry! I usually try to air-...

I promised someone I would start posting again, so here goes!
http://passionateeater.blogspot.com/2012/08/shaking-in-my-boots-at-shake-shack.html

When I posted about the "In-N-Out and Five Guys taste-off" that we organized eons ago, many commenters remarked that there was "one burger chain to rule them all," and that I gravely failed to mention this burger joint. This place? New York City's Shake Shack. Therefore, when my beau and I visited...

Without a doubt, my favorite party food is seven layer dip. With one deft swoop of a wide-brimmed tortilla chip, you can scoop up a delectable bite of seven unique flavors and textures, and since there is guacamole and salsa inside, you save on repeated trips to the party table! Every family has...

And one more about short-term storage of green onions/scallions: http://passionateeater.blogspot.com/2012/05/absolute-best-way-to-store-green-onions.html

My friend recently sent me a link on "the absolute best way to store green onions." Instead of putting bagged scallions in the crisper bin or vegetable drawer of a frigid and dark refrigerator, store them near a sunny window in a transparent glass of water (and change the water once it gets cloudy)...

Posting again on Passionate Eater! Nothing special, but will be ramping up the posts soon! http://passionateeater.blogspot.com/2012/05/lookie-what-i-found-new-felt-food-set.html

It comes with a faux plastic tray, a pre-sliced fish, two spears of broccoli, lemon wedges, and halved tomatoes! Okay, I admit, I am way too happy over these toys. But I do like these fabric food sets far more than the hollow play food sets (where each food item is basically just a hard plastic ...

Hello everyone, check out my latest post, up now: http://passionateeater.blogspot.com/2011/09/in-my-opinion.html

As a featured publisher of Foodbuzz, Foodbuzz often sends me emails about their "Tastemaker Program," where they send free food samples to bloggers in exchange for honest feedback (and a blog post or two). Since I was trying to get back on the blog wagon and increase the frequency of my posts, I ex...
