What an incredible event! Six bar teams representing six Bay Area neighborhoods spent hours in our distillery crafting their signature gin with ingredients that spoke to their local ingredients and personal experiences. Last night they all made one cocktail to best express their gin. All six were incredibly thoughtful, creative, intentional and of the Bay. Our winners are:
Best Cocktail - Outerlands
Best Gin - True Laurel
Best Overall - Bar Maritime & Maritime Boat Club

We are so excited to help Bar Maritime distill a limited run of their “Garden Salsa!” gin, inspired by salsa garden sun chips and an iconic SF pastime, the humble picnic, complete with a “sh*tty little sandwich.” Look for that at Bar Maritime sometime in the near future!

We’re ready for the next chapter of the Bar Brucato space! We’re looking for a chef or bar team to run an intimate concept — a chef residency, pop-up series, or first restaurant — inside our San Francisco distillery. The space is small but stunning, the terms are flexible, and one thing is certain: this isn’t a typical commercial listing. We want a partner who shares our love of good flavors, commitment to community, and adventurous spirit.

Reporting live from the Bay to Bottle Gin Making Competition 🍸🧪 The bar teams have been hard at work in our Distillery over the past few weeks, perfecting their final products for the judges and crafting their gin-based cocktail for the panel. Winner announced September 14 - watch this space!

We hope you don’t mind, but we made weekend plans for you 😘🥃

Saturday afternoon (1-4pm): Distillery Tasting Party
Saturday evening: homemade Blenheim Old Fashioned

Recipe:
1 1/2 oz Crane Cove Rye
3/4 oz Blenheim Apricot Liqueur
A dash of bitters (Angostura or nut bitters - we love toasted pecan bitters for this!)
Stir over ice, pour into rocks glass with ice (ideally a large single cube)
Garnish with orange peel (or thin slice) and a cocktail cherry.
