The Sake Scholar Course is happening in San Francisco Wednesday-Friday 9/23-9/25 right before SAKE DAY!

The course will commence at JCCCNC, the community center that makes the magic happen every SAKE DAY. The course is founded by James Beard Award Winner Michael Tremblay Michael Tremblay and will be instructed by Kerry Jo Rizzo KJ ๐ŸŒธ. We are so honored to be holding the class at The Center again!

SAKE DAY Brewery Spotlight: Aizu Homare! โœจ

Homare Sake Brewery in Kitakata City, Fukushima makes the highest quality to value ratio sake in the industry. In a word, they are a big brewery! But they also make the highest prized sake at IWC ... a Daiginjo in a wood box for $60 and a fantastic all-koji koshu in a 375ml bottle for only $16! Their Junmai Ginjo with Shacho's name on it sells for in the $20's. Amazing quality and value!

Not only is fourth-generation President and CEO Hiroyuki Karahashi the nicest human in the sake world, he is also super human in his efforts to make sake affordable! He is a man for the sake masses! He has turned on a new generation of sake drinkers with his Chocolate Nigori (and the famous strawberry and lychee). He has conquered the highest commercial prize in international sake competitions and just won the top prize at the Fukushima Prefecture's top sake competition. He makes both machine and hand made sake of note! He uses four stories of vertical brewing - robots - and small tanks to create everything in the sake world! Big and small and just awesome for all of us consumers!
