The label for the 49th Anchor Christmas Ale features the Subalpine fir (Abies lasiocarpa). Anchor Brewing historian Dave Burkhart chose this tree to symbolize resilience, because it only grows in the highest altitudes of Northern California, and because Fritz Maytag liked to alternate between a skinny tree and a wide tree. Merry Christmas!
