My name is Mariam and I come from sweet old, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, North African… Cairo, the region of great, tasty and healthy food. Both my parents are great cooks so I never had the need to learn cooking until I moved

to San Francisco to pursue my post graduate education. Left on my own longing for my parent’s amazing food I started asking them for recipes and turns out, I’m a GREAT cook, and I didn’t even know it. Now I can say I have true passion for cooking. So, I decided to share my parent’s recipes in addition to other recipes I learned to cook here to make life easier for people that just moved out on their own and have no idea where to find a nice home made meal that feels like home. These recipes are quick and easy to cook and guaranteed to fight your homesickness. I’ve called this website Kamil’s Recipes to honor my father’s passion for the Art of cooking, he was struggling with health problems recently, with me so far away, I thought this would flatter him.
