I am so excited to share that Marci Chicory blend is officially out👀🤎!!!! And we had an incredible opening event with Women in tech in Sanfrancisco! What a blessing for me to be in environment that I am coming from (former tech founder) and thrive by seeing other women going through their business journeys! Marci was gone in less than 15 minutes, glad that I got few pictures!

What if I told you that there can be a coffee without caffeine. That is not a decaf.

Vanilla latte yogurt bowl with caramelized banana, fried dates, walnuts & 85% dark chocolate 🤎

Made with Chicory Blend instead of coffee — so you still get that cozy coffee flavor, just without the caffeine.

Recipe below ↓

For 1:
• 1 banana, sliced
• 1–2 Medjool dates, pitted & quartered
• ½ tbsp butter
• ¼ tsp cinnamon
• 1 cup Greek yogurt
• ½ shot prepared Chicory Blend
• Chopped walnuts
• 85% dark chocolate

Heat butter over medium-low heat. Add banana, dates and cinnamon and cook for 5–8 min, flipping halfway through, until caramelized and the dates are crisp around the edges.

Mix Greek yogurt with the prepared Marci Chicory Blend until smooth.

Top with the warm banana and dates, walnuts and chopped dark chocolate.

Coffee flavor, no caffeine. 🤎

02 — WHEN THE ROOT MET FIRE

At some point, people discovered that roasting changed chicory root completely.

Fresh chicory root is firm and bitter. But dried, cut and roasted, it became darker, more aromatic and surprisingly coffee-like.

The roasted root could then be ground and brewed in hot water, turning an ordinary root into a dark, bitter drink.

And there was something else inside the root: inulin, a type of dietary fiber. People centuries ago didn’t know about inulin or prebiotics — today, we know chicory root is one of the richest natural sources of it.

Roasting didn’t just preserve the root.

It created an entirely new ingredient.

And centuries later, when coffee became part of European life, people discovered that roasted chicory’s color, bitterness and roasted flavor could complement coffee remarkably well.

By the late 18th century, chicory was increasingly being used to extend or replace coffee, especially when coffee was expensive or difficult to obtain.

Root → dried → roasted → ground → brewed.

A plant that began as food and medicine had become a drink.

Next → When chicory became part of coffee culture.
