Hello matcha lovers! We want to give a huge thank you to everyone for the amazing support 💚 We wanted to show our appreciation by selling our entire stock of Marukyu Koyamaen matcha jars before the price increase, which sold out during the two matcha sales event we held. We hope you were able to grab some and are loving every vibrant green scoop 🍵✨

We previously posted on May 28 to notify all our followers of the impending price increase for Marukyu Koyamaen matcha. We now know to expect prices to increase by 60% to 70%!

Why? This year’s matcha harvest in Japan was down ~20% due to weather conditions, and with demand still sky-high, prices for raw tea leaves have nearly doubled. This issue is not islolated to Marukyu Koyamaen (though the demandd is highest for Marukyu Koyamaen matcha) so expect overall prices for Japanese matcha to increase significantly.

We will continue to use our best efforts to minimize the cost increases to our amazing customers but unfortunately, we are unable to absorb such a significant increase and will need to raise our prices. Thank you for your understanding and tremendous amount of support! 🙏💚
