Pastatable Pasta is a collective name for food made from wheat flour and water. Pasta is boiled in water and served with a sauce.

The name refers to the resulting dough (pasta also literally means "dough") of which different shapes are rolled and cut.

Prawn pasta with tomato, chilli and basil🍝🍝

-Prawn pasta with tomato, chili, and basil is a flavorful and satisfying Italian-inspired dish that combines succulent prawns with a zesty tomato sauce, a hint of heat from chili peppers, and the aromatic freshness of basil.

Ingredients:

1 tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
½ tsp dried chilli flakes
150g baby plum tomatoes
150ml white wine
200g spaghetti
basil, a handful of leaves
225g raw peeled prawns
a generous k**b butter

Directions:

-Heat the oil in a large frying pan, add the garlic and chilli flakes, and cook gently for 2-3 minutes. Add the tomatoes and cook for 3-4 minutes or until they start to soften. Tip in the wine and simmer for 5 minutes.

-Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water until just tender then drain, reserving a cup of water.

-Stir the basil and the prawns into the tomatoes, season well, and cook until the prawns turn pink. Stir in the butter and spaghetti with a splash of the cooking water to loosen the sauce, toss and serve.

A fairly simple pasta shape, yet one that you may not have heard of before. As discussed in a previous blog, shell pasta is best paired with a creamy or meaty sauce. Each bite will have the full flavour of the dish as the sauce mingles and gets trapped within each shell. You may also choose to use this as a nice alternative to the traditional macaroni pasta bake.
