Garden To Table Silicon Valley We are a non-profit urban farm located in downtown San Jose! We teach people how to grow their own food and build strong community bonds.

We are thrilled to announce that we are opening up our Summer Camps to single day campers!

Each day highlights a different topic and has its own unique activities.
Monday: 🌱 Welcome to the Farm!
Tuesday: 🐝 Farm Helpers: Bees and Worms
Wednesday: 🌻 All About Plants
Thursday: 🐓 Chicken Day
Friday: 👩‍🍳 Garden Cooking Class ⭐️

Sessions run from 9AM - 3PM,
Monday through Friday,
July 8-12, and July 15-19.

The UC Cooperative Extension Composting Education program teaches residents how to compost at home to reduce food waste and support healthy soil. The program hosts a comprehensive Master Composter training course every 2 years.

Aprenda el arte y la ciencia detrás del compostaje con un maestro compostador local. Venga a aprender sobre la importancia de manejar sus desechos orgánicos (restos de comida y recortes de jardín) en casa. A medida que la sequía empeora y el clima se calienta, la gestión de residuos en el hogar nunca ha sido más relevante. Con aplicaciones de amplio alcance, el compostaje en el patio trasero reduce su contribución a los vertederos, conserva el agua y construye suelos saludables y totalmente naturales que almacenan carbono. En este taller aprenderá a construir, administrar y utilizar una pila de compuesto doméstica.

Los participantes también aprenderán cómo transformar los restos de la cocina de su hogar en una enmienda rica y nutritiva para el suelo de sus jardines utilizando lombrices. Venga preparado para aprender sobre el cuidado de las lombrices y comparar técnicas de vermicompost.
