1.) How did you get involved with agriculture? Agriculture is part of my DNA, My great-great grandfather was a rancher in California and I am carrying on his tradition of land stewardship.
2.) What’s your favorite part of your job? I love working with people, animals and land to nurture peace.
3.) Name one of your favorite foods
A grassfed prime rib, slow cooked and served rare!
4.) What’s one thing you would change about your job? It would be nice to not have so many variables we can’t control: weather and markets.
5.) If you could fulfill one wish, what would it be? I’d like to see managed grazing re-introduced on large swaths of land that are now farmed with industrial-style monocrops. Soil health needs biodiversity, and we know how to produce that. We just need policies that encourage more of it.

What would you do if your partner came home one day and told you you just started a new business together? Steve Chase did just that! We’re excited to offer his coffee and hope you’ll order some for yourself!! Read on to learn more about this amazing family!
1.) How did you get involved with agriculture? Haven’t thought about being ā€œinvolvedā€ with agriculture. I just came home one day and said ā€œWe are going to roast coffeeā€. My wife was like ā€œOK, whateverā€ hahahaha
2.) What’s your favorite part of your job? Roasting Coffee and meeting our customers
3.) Name one of your favorite foods. Chicken Bake Casserole – my Grandma’s recipe!
4.) What’s one thing you would change about your job? Not having to roast when it’s 100 degrees outside. The roaster is hot enough at 400+ degrees and the commercial kitchen we roast out of gets at least 90 degrees inside😊
5.) If you could fulfill one wish, what would it be? We (the Chase family) started Tourist Hat to give back to non-profits (in coffee producing countries and locally here in Hollister) that work with kids in education and skills training. My wish is for a lot of success in selling coffee so that we can help as many kids as possible. ā˜•ļø šŸ™ŒšŸ¼
Thanks Steve!! We’re psyched to be offering your coffee and supporting such a great mission.

Todd and Jordan Champagne own Their love of food led to a business and life dedicated to creating delicious and healthy jams, preserves and other pantry staples. Jordan’s new cookbook It Starts with Fruit walls readers through her unconventional methods for making fruit preserves. We’re thrilled to offer their goodies!
1.) How did you get involved with agriculture?
I have worked with and on farms for most of my adult life. I love being on farms and being a part of the seasonal production. My grandfather owned garden centers in Chicago - and I grew up in the dirt in the city. It is natural to me!
2.) What’s your favorite part of your job?
Changing peoples lives. Empowering people to enjoy the local harvest and eat healthy create community and make solid choices. Saying yes to farmers is another favorite. Saying yes to them to use the glut of their lovely harvest. Oh and being all organic and living up to my ethics every day. Oh and the fact that we are all vegetarian and people love that. Oh and.….shall I go on?
3.) Name one of your favorite foods.
Bing Cherries! Kale. Artichokes. TOMATOES!!!
4.) What’s one thing you would change about your job?
I would have someone else handle HR. That is a tough job!
5.) If you could fulfill one wish, what would it be?
That everyone can see that a non violent way of life starts at home with all of the choices that we make and that we all have the power to make a difference and create the world that we want to live in with every choice that we make. I wish everyone could live with their heart leading the way.
