We invite folks in our community to present trivia on their favorite q***r subject. Remember, trivia isn’t just about knowing stuff already but also learning new stuff! And this event is a great way to meet cool folk!

Caleb (they/them) from presenting on Q***r Books and Poetry
Samuel is sharing his favorite Q***r Figures from history, from the well known to the obscure
And Linnea (they/them) of ***rdos and presents a subject that is TBD.

Ever wondered if what's really happening in those TV chemistry scenes is real? Or t it takes to make large quantities of a single compound? In this presentation, Kieran will show you the realities of manufacturing chemistry, how reactions are scaled up, repeated time after time, and how they stay safe in a production environment. This informal talk explores the science of light, lasers, photonics, and how light and light-based applications shape our lives. Isinsu will relate everyday experiences with modern technology and give insight to ongoing laser phyiscs research at Cal Poly-- like in a fun way.

And trigger warning on that last slide, cuz it’s a deer carcass a few weeks old that got dragged to a private spot for feasting… we can’t tell how it died; we have seen mountain lion tracks in the past, but just as likely the deer panicked and dashed itself against the fence.
