Finally! The San Luis Peoples Market will start offering our celebrated native heirloom corn tortillas this week! We prepare our own nixtamal (hominy) and use a volcanic stone corn mill to make the masa harina and hand press each delicious tortilla. Red, blue, purple, yellow and white tortillas. Will be available in limited quantities.

Please note we will finally start offering our stone ground nonGMO native corn tortillas at the Market and the only ingredients are nixtamal (homemade hominy) and water . Simple, delicious, high fiber, and made two blocks away.

The Peoples Market staff decided to express a traditional sense of the holiday from the 4th through the Fiesta de Santiago y Santa Anna. I do not micromanage their beliefs or managerial decisions. The subtext is that we follow workplace democracy even when we do not agree. Regardless, they did a very good job with the flags and all. I am especially grateful to Elaine Velasquez who coordinated the effort.
