“So there I was, and there they were...”
That’s how my grandfather always started one of his stories. Wildly exaggerated, usually outrageous, and somehow still believable enough for me as a kid to buy every word.

My favorite character was always Stud Man, a 007-type who always found front-row parking and moved like Elvis Presley.

My grandfather loved telling stories, so what better way to honor him than with an oatmeal stout that’s smooth, rich, and endlessly drinkable.
Charred brownie and espresso on the nose, with cacao nibs, toasted oatmeal, and soft pastry crust on the finish.

Raise a glass, or two, and remember the loved ones we’ve lost. Cherish the stories they left us with while making new ones worth telling.
So there we were, and there they’ll be.
