It's really my honor to serve this wonderful Coffee Creek Farmers Market and community of patrons.
Vendor Spotlight: Clarke Family Farms
Every Wednesday, Clarke Family Farms brings something extraordinary to the market: thoughtfully raised meats from a farmer who truly cares about what goes on your table.
Their chicken is raised with an incredible amount of care. Clarke Family Farms pasture-raises their birds, moving them daily onto fresh pasture where they have access to grass, clover and bugs. Their chickens are raised without GMOs, hormones, antibiotics or vaccines, and their feed is sourced locally from Mennonite farms. Even when it comes time for processing, they are thoughtful about the details, using a USDA-approved organic processor.
And you can taste the difference.
Whether you’re looking for a whole chicken for Sunday dinner, breasts for an easy weeknight meal, boneless skinless thighs, quarters, wings or drumsticks, Jed has you covered. It’s the kind of quality chicken that reminds you why buying directly from the person who raised your food really does matter.
Chicken may be the star, but don’t stop there. Clarke Family Farms also brings plenty of other good things to the market, including pork chops, brats, bacon, and more.
But one of our favorite things about Clarke Family Farms is the family behind it.
Jed Clarke is one of those people you’re always happy to see on Wednesday. He is kind, helpful, thoughtful, generous, and one of the hardest-working people you’ll meet. He’s always willing to answer a question, explain how something was raised, suggest what to buy or just spend a few minutes talking with you. You can tell how much he cares about his farm, his family, his customers, and the food he raises.
That connection is one of the things that makes shopping at a farmers market so special. You aren’t buying from a faceless company. You’re supporting a real family farm, a local farmer doing the work every single day, and someone who genuinely cares about what he is raising and who he is raising it for.
Stop by Clarke Family Farms this Wednesday from 3-7 and grab some chicken for dinner, a few pork chops for later, and take a minute to say hello to Jed. We think you’ll be just as glad to know the farmer as you are to know where your food came from.
