Yikes it’s been a while here on the farm we have had lots of things happen. We got 2 calf Holsteins we are going to Breed to have fresh cows milk and added a nice healthy Hereford heifer we are also goi g to breed for another round of beef.

Unfortunately with good and happy news we are sad to share that last week we had 7 of our baby goats taken out by a single coyote who came back several days. Lucky, who was one of our boer bucks we were so excited to have as he was lucky to be here since his mom was only 8 months old when she gave birth to him, was among the loss we had.

We are didn’t think coyotes were in our area as we have not had an issue in over two yrs. This coming week we are building and reinforcing our perimeter to secure our goats and keep them protected from the wildlife that surrounds us.

We are also planning and getting ready for the next breeding season. To start we are breeding our meat goats, our boers who put on some good weight since we brought them to our farm, we are excited for these since it will be our first year for meat only. Following successful breeding of meat we will turn to strategic and progressive breeding of our dairy herd getting, us ready for our dairy line of goats milk coming soon to be available for public consumption.
