Curious about how fiber tools actually work? Ever wished you could fix that spinning wheel, loom, or mystery object sitting in the corner of your studio?
Join Yama for a hands-on Build & Repair Clinic where we explore tools, learn practical skills, and get comfortable fixing and maintaining our fiber equipment.
What We’ll Do & Learn
• Take apart real equipment and put it back together again.
For our first class we’ll work on a table loom that “needs a few screws”… and possibly a little more investigation.
• Bring your broken or incomplete tools.
Spinning wheels, looms, odd fiber gadgets… the more the merrier. We’ll diagnose problems and may be able to repair them during class at no additional charge.
• Learn fiber tool anatomy.
We’ll examine a working table loom and spinning wheel, focusing on parts, maintenance, and common repairs.
• Safe tool use.
Best practices for working with tools and materials safely while building practical hands-on skills.
• Try it yourself.
After demonstrations, everyone has the chance to practice at their own comfort level.
• Build an Inkle Loom.
We’ll demonstrate building a simple inkle loom.
Kits will be available if you’d like to build one to take home.

An assortment of tools and materials will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own tools if you prefer.
