Seven girls. Six girls have never been sprayed by a skunk. One girl gets sprayed at least once a year. It was our lucky week. The good news is I just gave her shots last weekend so I don’t need to hug her again for almost a month. Yuck! Good job, Triscuit.

These two are at each other again! Girls, don’t make me come down there… (you can hear them screaming all the way in the house.)

The girls squabble like sisters. In this video, Triscuit, the tan colored girl on the left, decides to spit into the air for seemingly for no reason. Karma, the black girl, thinks that her sister Widget, the medium brown alpaca, spits on her, and they proceed to have a tussle. Meanwhile, Triscuit just looks out the window like nothing’s wrong. It’s a normal day at the farm! I only grabbed this video because I heard the screaming from my office 🤦‍♀️

Congrats to our friends at Granite State Alpacas - they welcomed a male cria this morning. He joins another baby, Pearl, who is 6 weeks old. There are three more babies coming this summer and I can’t wait to meet them!

It was a busy day at the farm with lots of wild animal visitors. Missing a photo but the bobcat also came through.

Foxes are cute and playful - but they can also be trouble. One thing is for sure: the alpacas don’t love their pasture friends. Our girl, Karma, chases them daily. She never really runs unless it’s to shoo them out of HER field!

They ran out of hay midday. I assure you they are NOT starving. I hadn’t replaced as they need to graze but are lazy. Yet this girl, Widget (alpha of the herd) has decided she’s soooo hungry she’s going to nibble on other things. 🤦‍♀️ That’s not what I had in mind…

Alpacas sound an alarm if they sense danger and it sounds like…a squeaky toy! Danger could be a wild animal, a neighborhood pet, a stray plastic bag or a leaf. They are prey animals and scared of almost everything. 🤣 We never found the culprit today. This went on for an hour.

My farm is not open to the public but my friends at Granite State Alpacas host visitors and do alpaca meet and greets! How cute is baby Pearl?! I was there for her mom’s shearing day three days before she was born and I got to see her when she was two days old. More babies coming this summer. Totally worth the trip!!!
