We are OFFICIALLY DONE with the 2026 kidding season and I am so relieved I could cry with relief.

Mosa kidded around 6am while I was finishing milking with twin bucks! 💙💙 While she was a little blasé about pushing out kid #2, she did wonderfully and had no complications.

She also gave me over a half gallon of colostrum which was greatly appreciated and looks to have a beautiful first freshening udder. Best of all, she was incredibly polite for her first milking.

I love my Mosa girl and so glad that she ended our kidding season well.

It’s been a rough week and honestly just a tough kidding season; the hardest one ever.

I’m crossing my fingers and toes for our first ever standard babies to be safe and healthy and for Mosa, my big loveable dog, to be safe and healthy too.

Mosa is bred to French Alpine buck, Addi-Hill Lono Soothsayer and all kids will be available.

Bucks will go unregistered on the bottle and doe kids will be available as ADGA American Alpines.

Everyone seems to be doing okay so far.

The doe kid is retained and her name is:
Fable Hill SS/KA Valhallalujah aka “Val”

Pending DNA to confirm sire as Bryn was dual bred to Nik and King. She sure looks like a King daughter though.

Buck kid will be evaluated and DNA’d and potentially available as a herdsire. Bryn is going to be 9 this year and has a stunning mammary system. Either buck as a sire offers linebreeding on Algedi genetics and is a very exciting cross both ways.

A tremendous and heartfelt thank you to my friend Donielle Mariah of Paulen Ridge Farm for talking me through a very stressful and challenging pull on that kid. Couldn’t have done it without her.

REINTRODUCING our new junior herdsire (who had a hiccup with naming and needed a rename):

PAULEN RIDGE FARM SS MOTUHAKE

KoMo is sired by Castle Rock Sunthin Special, the 2021 ADGA Spotlight Sale buck and son of GCH Castle Rock Tahitian Sunset VEEE90, who was the 2019 National Champion and Best Udder. Tahitian was also part of the 1st Place Breeder’s Trio, 1st Place Dairy Herd and 1st Place Get of Sire at Nationals in 2019. Sunthin’s sire, Castle Rock Thunderhead, is a son of SGCH Castle Rock Polar Vortex EEEE91, who is the maternal sister to CH Castle Rock Flash Flood VEEE90, the 2015 National Champion and Best Udder. Vortex is also maternal sister to notable sire, Castle Rock Pineapple Express *B.
Tahitian’s sire is Castle Rock Cleveland Sage ++*B, 2019 National Premier Sire and a buck who is well known for the consistency of the mammary systems he puts on his daughters. Cleveland Sage has 8+ SGCH daughters.

KoMo’s dam is a young and promising doe from Novella Farm that my dear friends at Paulen Ridge Farm purchased bred to Special. Arwen’s second freshening udder is already a dream to milk with nice open orifices, strength of attachment and a beautiful, smooth foreudder. I have had the chance to see Arwen in person late last year and get my hands on her and she is truly a beautiful, dairy type doe who I think is going to mature into something really exceptional.

Arwen’s sire is CH Sweet Garden Gioachino Rossini *B, who is a son of SGCH Fairlea Elise VEEE90. Elise was not only a 6x ELITE doe and 2x Total Performer at the National Show, she was also 2nd Place at Nationals three consecutive years in her respective age class from 3 to 5 years old. Giaochino’s sire’s dam is SGCH J-Nels ER Dumplin 2*M VEEE90, the 2011 Reserve National Champion.

Arwen’s dam is Novella Farm Rev Mystic, a doe who now resides at Moon Station and is in her PRIME right now as she hits the show circuit down south. Arguably one of the best silver does in the country (or the history of the breed). Mystic is a daughter of Agape’s Prize Reverend C Quinn, a son of GCH Woodbridge Farm CountNBlessns 1*M EEEE92 and Old Mountain Farm Cyrus Quinn +*B.

Mystic’s dam is the lovely Flat Rock’s Alchemy, a doe who has outproduced herself time and time again with daughters who are improvements upon her while maintaining that beautiful dairy character and mammary system.

I am beyond excited to use this guy this fall and see what he produces. While KoMo himself an outcross buck, he is well related to some of the does in our herd and will be a great cross over all of them! We may also have some SUPER EXCITING announcements on the breeding list for this fall that will tie his genetics back into our herd even further.

Dragonfly SOL Brynhidr had a big fall today (rather she wildly leapt from the milk stand and fell 4+ft onto her belly and knees) and appears to potentially be in early labor.

She’s got some medical issues that are outside of my usual wheelhouse when dealing with pregnant does.

After a discussion with my amazing veterinarian, Dr. Barski, this morning, we decided to induce her early. Although it appears she may already be in early labor (on day 140), which is not super shocking given her accident today.

I’ll be watching her very closely on the kidding cameras all night.

Vaccinations, tattoos and hoof trims done on the kids today ✔️ ✔️✔️

It’s not just as simple as stick them and turn them back out in the pen.

The cost is so much higher than the price of a bottle of CDT or Nasalgen 3PMH.

It’s the needles, syringes, gloves, alcohol prep pads, wipes, paper towels, the registrations that give them their identification numbers.

It’s the time.
It’s the energy.
It’s the willingness to sacrifice other things to do GOATS.

But I love them. 🩷

My daughter created this in school today. 🥺😍🤗

I’m framing it and putting in the milk room. She’s spent so much time this spring working with her dry yearling, Dolly, leading her, grooming her and has her heart set on a rosette.

Dolly was shown once last summer as an Intermediate Kid and won a class over 30+ kids!

Ellie loves Dolly and Dolly loves her. 🩷❤️💛

Dolly is even more special that she is the daughter of Ellie’s original heart goat, Secret.

Fable Hill SS Sunnbeam Bunn-E kidded with a 4lb single doe sired by Dragonfly ZG Launch Party today!

She is a gorgeous solid chami with the tiniest frosting on the base of her ears and what looks like a mini silver moonspot on one leg.

Sunni labored a very long time and definitely kept me on the edge of my seat for a day and a half. I started feeling like perhaps something was not right and did a minor check this afternoon then gave her some time to settle into harder labor. A few hours later I decided that she needed another check as things were NOT progressing. The moment I gloved up and walked out to check her, she started pushing. 🤣

This doe is most definitely RETAINED.

We now have FOUR Party daughters on the ground and have decided to part with one; a very flashy chocolate doe with moonspots and heavy white. Please PM if interested.

Ps. Check the size difference between this 4lb kid compared to her 1lb paternal sister. 😆

Fable Hill DFS Interstellar kidded tonight around 7:30pm with 2B 1D 💙💙🩷

The doe was born breech and seemed barely alive initially. She is 1lb and finally stood briefly about 4 hours after birth. I’m hopeful to pull her through her challenges and see her thrive. She is on a heating mat to keep her temperature up and has some towels rolled up on either side of her to help keep her sternal.

I was able to consult with my dear friend, Donielle, who has lots of experience with these one-pounders and she seems to think we can keep her alive.

The two bucklings are doing great. Stunning kids and so wide! Stella’s prefresh udder was very exciting and I can’t wait to see what her future holds.

Now we await Sunni to kid as the last of our junior does bred to Dragonfly ZG Launch Party.

Fable Hill DFS Gemini Effect “Gemma” kidded tonight around 10pm with a single doe kid 🩷 sired by Dragonfly ZG Launch Party.

This is a linebreeding on some very nice animals and we are so thrilled to see the first freshening udder on one of our two daughters of Dragonfly MZ Saturnalia and Fable Hill JD Angel’s Envy.

This doe kid is NOISY and weighed in at 3.11lbs and she is all mine!
