FLOCK LIQUIDATION: *********UPDATE*********
Some of you know I suffered 2 major heat strokes, one in Sept. 2019 and one in April of 2020. After the first one we reduced our flock from 85 head of ewes down to 60, the second one happened while working lambs so we dropped down to 30. Susan has worked really hard trying to keep up with near zero help from me 8-9 months out of the year due to the South Texas heat. We have made the very hard decision that it is time for us to shut down our Club Lamb operation and our entire show flock is up for discussion.
These are not “cull” or “problem” ewes, we kept them when we reduced our herd for a reason. These ewes are all between 2-5 years old, proven mothers with good bags and consistent lambs. These 30 ewes raised 49 lambs this year.
The 30 ewes break down this way:
12 - Registered Hampshire Ewes.
1 – Registered Polled Dorset Ewe.
17 – Black face cross. ( 3 left, 14 already SOLD )( some could be registered but with my health issues I got behind on paperwork, records current )
All are medium wools, all are market style.
We also have 3 Registered Hampshire bucks available. ( ONLY 2 BUCKS LEFT, "Blizzard of 78" SOLD ) Registered bucks & ewes papers are in the photos. I will not be responding to “how much” and “what are you asking” responses on this post. If you want detailed information private message me your name, number and email address and I will forward you detailed information with pricing.
We are really hoping to help a young person or family get a start in the Club Lamb business either buying the entire flock or pairing groups of 10 ewes to a buck. The animals are priced with this goal in mind.
Flock located in Sandia, Texas.
We will be keeping a small flock of Registered Horned Dorsets for commercial purpose
