Meet our 2026 4H rescue project, Daisy!

Daisy is an older Shetland pony our 4H club rescued from auction this spring. She’s a quick learner who loves a good neck scratch and would thrive as a companion pony with kids to dote on her. Daisy can live with mares or geldings and is generally easy to get along with.

Our 4H club knew Daisy had been neglected when we rescued her, but we didn’t realize how much care she would need. We are so happy we were able to give her a safe landing and are now hoping to find her one in a million home, someone who understands her needs and wants to give an older pony a safe, loving place to land. She does require some maintenance.

Small adoption fee with contract. Would also be open to a stay adoption at our farm.

Maggie is 2.5 years old and ready to find her perfect home! She’s recently spayed, fully up to date on all her vaccines and has wonderful manners. She would thrive in a home with another dog to play with and enjoy life alongside. She’s crate trained, gets along well with other animals, and has excellent behavior both in the car and at horse shows. If you’re looking for a loving companion that is out of the puppy stage she might be the perfect fit.

Good luck to our riders Sophia, Elizabeth, and Savannah as they compete at IEA Dressage Nationals in St. Louis!

Sophia and Elizabeth are in the ring today! Savannah will be showing on Saturday!

Joining them in St. Louis are Coach Rhea and team spirit leader Molly, keeping everyone smiling and energized along the way. Good luck team!

Update on one of our new rescue friends!

The Hooves, Paws and Claws team decided save this sweet mini now named Daisy for their 2026 project. She’s currently battling a severe case of founder, and the our club is working closely with the farrier and vet to get her as comfortable as possible.

Daisy has turned out to be a bigger rescue project than expected but she’s already learning to love the attention and care. She’s incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated group of 4Hers supporting her recovery.

Thank you to everyone who donated toward her care and supported our raffle fundraiser. With multiple vet and extra farrier visits still ahead it is greatly appreciated. We drew our raffle winners at yesterday's meeting and have contacted all the lucky winners.

Our 4H club, Sandown Hooves, Paws, and Claws is raffling off these 6 baskets to help with board, veterinary, and farrier care for Daisy. She is the pony they rescued from the auction in March.
Tickets at $10 for 1 and $25 for 3. Thank you for supporting our club!
