🚨Fundraiser alert 🚨 For the remaining of this month we will be fundraising for the Sandpoint Area Senior Inc. (SASi) center. I absolutely love what they are doing and we will continue to find ways to partner with them including produce donation to provide organic produce to our seniors who otherwise could not afford healthier meal options.
Through October 31, my husband and I will match every dollar donated to SASi through Beloved Acres co-op, dollar-for-dollar, up to a total of $1,000. 🥳 It's easy to participate in the fundraiser -- under our weekly specials tab os a fundraising category -- select any amount you are able to give and add it to your order. For more than 50 years, SASi has been serving older adults in our community. What began in 1974, when Alamae and Lloyd Cox founded the Bonner County Senior Citizens Council, has grown into an organization providing nutritious meals, home-delivered meals, programs, and meaningful opportunities for connection.
The impact 🚨 SASi is serving approximately 26,000 meals each year — 30% more than last year through our
home-delivered and congregate meal programs. We deliver meals, but we deliver so much more.
● A home-delivered meal can bring a familiar face, a wellness check, and connection
● More than half of our participants are living in poverty or on low incomes.
● Every meal costs more to provide than the reimbursement and voluntary contribution we receive.
Approximately $6 of that cost must be covered through community support.
