Rainbow Farm Rainbow Farm is a husband and wife owned farm located in Sandstone, West Virginia. The poultry feed is free of medications and hormones.

We are a small, but diverse farm located in the mountains of southern West Virginia. Our agricultural pursuits include - Organic Market Gardens (concentrating on greens), Eggs (from free roaming hens), Pastured Poultry, Goats (for breeding stock, 4H, and meat), Fruit (orchard and blueberries), and Hay. Products are marketed and sold off the farm year-round & at the Lewisburg Farmers Market every Saturday from April-November from 8:30am-1:00pm. We strive to produce the highest quality product the most natural way possible. Our produce is grown without the use of petroleum based fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides; in may ways our practices are better than USDA organic. The goats receive only minimal grain rations, (during late pregnancy and lactation) and are wormed on an as needed basis only following the FAMACHA method. The layers receive a feed ration, but spend the majority of the day outside the coop foraging. The broiler are raised following Joel Salatin’s method of raising Pastured Poultry.

We will be at The Farmers Market of Lewisburg this Saturday with our pasture raised chicken.

Summers is flying by and we will be processing our fifth batch of chickens this Sunday and Monday. Including this one, only three processing remain this season. We still have some fresh chickens available for on farm pickup at our discounted price. Send us a message if you want to pick some up!

We had another busy week on the farm and processed our fourth batch of chickens this season.

Come out to The Farmers Market of Lewisburg on Saturday and stock up on our pasture raised chicken. We will have whole and cut up chickens available.

Join us at Mountain Table on Tuesday, July 14th from 3 to 8 pm for our Bootstraps Farm Supper!

This special evening celebrates the peak of summer with a menu focused heavily on farm fresh, hyper local ingredients, many of which are grown by Caroline and Michael right here in Renick WV.

We are highlighting wonderful regional products, including oyster mushrooms, fresh salad greens, and hot peppers from Bootstraps Farm, flowers from True Heart Flower Farm, pasture raised beef from Milligan Creek Farms, honey from Greenbrier Bee Farm, blueberries from Friendly Goat Fruit Farm, and poultry from Rainbow Farm.

We will also be serving up refreshing mojito and mule specials alongside house made sweets, so come out to Renick this Tuesday to enjoy a true farm-to-table meal with the community.

Did you know that today is National Fried Chicken Day? Yes, really! 🍗

We’re headed out to Rainbow Farm this afternoon to pick up the freshest chickens in WV, and we’ll be frying them up Wednesday. Give us a call at 304-645-1020 to place your order for half or whole birds, fried livers, collard greens, and pasta salad.

The heat wave is hard on the chickens, but we are doing what it takes to make them comfortable.

Come out to The Farmers Market of Lewisburg from 8-12 tomorrow for frozen chicken (whole and pieces) or to the farm on Sunday and Monday for fresh chicken!

The market is having a cookout tomorrow and our pasture raised drumsticks will be available to sample!

Rainbow Farm

It was a busy week on Rainbow Farm - we processed our third batch of chickens, battled with two raccoons 🦝 killing chickens, put our fifth batch of chicks out on pasture, and started picking blueberries (although the resident squirrel 🐿️ is getting more than its fair share).

We will have whole chickens, Cornish hens, and all cuts of our pasture raised chicken at the Farmers Market of Lewisburg this Saturday.
