Surprise, it's August!

I'm not sure why I'm surprised.....however....every year when the summer lisianthus are replaced with celosia and rudbeckia, I just stare in disbelief.....

A wave of urgency overwhelms me a little bit. Can I manage to squeeze in a last minute getaway, a casual cook out, or just get prepped for back to school?

This year, I decided to take a 'reset' week. Not a week off exactly, just a week of no guilt for working at 60% instead of 100%. I cut back on the number of markets, took a quick trip to a trial garden, and reconnected with friends. It has been just what I needed to recharge and get motivated for fall.

I'd love to hear what you are doing this August to celebrate the transition of seasons:)

No, they are not roses.....but they do have that same elegant look.

Lisianthus are annuals here in Northern Ohio and mid summer is their time to shine. They come in many colors ....from deep purple to light blush pink.

They are famous for having a very long vase life.

We will have them available in bunches and mixed into bouquets this weekend at the Sandusky Farmer's Market 8am to 12pm💐

It's nothing to be embarassed about....you are not a bad plant parent....

The beautiful planters that you proudly put together for Mother's Day are now looking like they've been through a war....and they have. Sweater weather one week, heat advisory the next, the storms, and the wind....all have taken thier toll.

As you are putting together the last details for this weekend's family cookout, you are probably thinking 'Should I just start over?' Honestly, you probably don't need to.

A shot of fertilizer, a party prep haircut for the sweet potato vine, and a quick switch out for the (almost) dead pansies will do wonders.

Our summer loving 4 inch annuals are the perfect solution for last minute 'switch ins'....blending perfectly into existing planters.

We'll have your back patio back to swoon worthy status before Aunt Linda arrives with her world famous dirt pudding.😉
