Father Daughter Dream

All through my childhood my father and I spoke of owning a farm. It was just a dream. A fond idea during hard times. As I grew older that dream just moved farther and farther away. For my dad it grew ever closer. It became his goal for retirement. He bought the homestead and worked from afar. Spending all of his free time working on the homestead as a project. My family would visit my dads homestead for holidays mostly and we spent most of the time enjoying helping my dad out as much as we could. I noticed one holiday that my dad would plant all this food and it would just rot away. My heart just broke. My dad said that he just couldn’t keep up with it by himself. He had to travel all the time for work. My husband told me that, me and the kids should stay here and help my father turn this homestead into a farm. Make it sustainable and good for not just our selves but the people who live around us. With my husbands blessing I stayed and continued working with my father to turn our dream into a reality.
