South Carolina Upstate Equine Council

South Carolina Upstate Equine Council SCUEC is a completely all volunteer, 501(c)3 organization promoting the growth and education of the equine industry.

Our vision is to become a magnet in Anderson, Oconee, Pickens and Greenville Counties for all equine activities. Beginning in late 2009, a large group of citizens affiliated with the equestrian interests along with representatives of local governments, Clemson University, other educational institutions, and the Vision Plan leaders from the Upstate counties of Anderson, Pickens, & Oconee, came toge

ther to explore collaboration to increase the importance of the equine presence in this region. The three counties, with more than 11,000 horses, and an annual economic impact over $63 million, saw the need to expand and improve the facilities at Clemson's T. Ed Garrison Arena, and some of the adjoining property making Clemson and its surrounding area a premier destination for equine sports competitions and other activities, and create a venue for cross-country and other multi-day competitions. SCUEC’s vision is to become a magnet in the tri-county area for all equine activities, and through the participation of spectators, vendors, and equestrian participants, to positively impact the quality of life...for children and adults through nature-based programs, equine education, and other outdoor recreational activities in the Upstate. SCUEC is a 501c3 completely volunteer, non-profit

We are proud of Randall-Nancy Garrison for testifying before an Agricultural Subcommittee, in an effort to provide protection to horses from fireworks. Garrison Farm is home to show horses and provides riding lessons. They have experienced horses injured by neighboring fireworks.

Greater Clemson Trail Users Coalition
Sherry Wyatt
If anyone is planning to meet me, Debbie, Kim, and Becky tomorrow, Saturday, February 14 at 10 a.m. at Butch Kennedy parking area at Fants Grove to clip branches on the Red Trail, please contact me directly by phone or text so we will know to expect you and be able to advise you of any change of plans. 864-710-4900
For trail users, please know you may encounter cut branches on the trail as getting on and off our horses to remove cuttings would not allow us to complete the task! Toss them!
Many thanks!
Sherry Wyatt
