🌾🇺🇸 Protect North Carolina's Farmland, Protect North Carolina's Future. 🚜🌱
Once North Carolina farmland is gone, there is no easy way to get it back.
From the fertile fields of the Coastal Plain and the rolling farmland of the Piedmont to the rich mountain valleys of Western North Carolina, generations of North Carolina farmers have helped build the Tar Heel State. Agriculture feeds millions of people, supports rural communities, creates jobs, and preserves a proud way of life rooted in hard work, family, and stewardship of the land.
Farmland is more than open space—it's food security, family heritage, wildlife habitat, and an investment in North Carolina's future. 🌾
Clean energy has an important role to play, and solar power can be part of a balanced energy future. But many North Carolinians believe solar panels should first be placed on rooftops, parking lots, warehouses, brownfields, and other already-developed land before productive farmland is converted.
North Carolina can continue to grow, innovate, and expand reliable energy while protecting the farms, forests, rivers, and scenic countryside that make the state unique.
Protect the land that feeds us. Support North Carolina farmers. Keep North Carolina growing. 🌽🚜💚🇺🇸

What’s for dinner? Quiche! Provided by the gorgeous hens here at Deep River pastures. No high prices and no lines.

Did you know?

Quiche originated in the German region of Lothringen, which was later annexed by France and renamed Lorraine. The word "quiche" itself is believed to be derived from the German word "kuchen," meaning "cake". The earliest references to quiche-like dishes date back to the 14th century, and the dish evolved into the quiche Lorraine we know today.

UFD breeder Max boar, AKA Duke, born 11/22/2022. Duke has a wonderful personality and sits for treats. He has not had an opportunity to breed on our farm, however is beloved and a wonderful example of a breeder quality IPP.

He is well socialized with other pigs, dogs, livestock , children and is gentile towards all. Trained to various electric fences including 3 strand, high tensile, and netting.

We are pausing our breeding program in order to focus on other enterprises on the farm, no fault of his. PM for more details. Located in Sanford, NC.
