has been an integral part of Central Florida. After seven years as a successful Budweiser beer distributor in Waukegan, Illinois, Wayne and Nancee Densch were awarded the Anheuser-Busch distributorship for Central Florida in 1960. At that time Budweiser was the number three beer in Central Florida. But the year Wayne Densch came to town the Budweiser brand rose from number three to number one. As
Budweiser and the Anheuser-Busch family of products grew to become the nation’s best-selling beers, Wayne Densch,Inc. settled into its role as the king of the market. Until his death in May 1994, Wayne Densch continued to lead the company into nonstop growth. A caring man with an exceptional personal character, he also set into motion charitable programs and community service projects supporting education and the arts. Wayne Densch was proud to be a part of the fabric of life in Central Florida and donated millions of dollars to the community. In 1986, Mr. Densch contributed $1 million to the athletic program at the University of Central Florida (UCF) for scholarships. In gratitude, the University named its athletic building the Wayne Densch Sports Center, as well as retiring the UCF Knight’s number 1 football jersey in Densch’s honor. Upon Wayne Densch’s death in 1994 his partner Leonard Williams assumed ownership of the company. In 1997 the company moved its headquarters to Sanford. Under Mr. William’s directions the company’s civic contributions include participation in various customer training programs focused on alcohol awareness and its involvement in Anheuser-Busch’s Consumer Awareness and Education programs. But their commitment to quality didn't stop there. Wayne Densch, Inc began to grow their portfolio beyond the Anheuser-Busch brands when they brought in the Heineken family of products. Since then, WDI has introduced brands to the Central Florida market such as Magic Hat Brewing Co, Victory Brewing Co, Southern Tier Brewing Co, Widmer Brewing Co, Red Hook Brewing Co, Kona Brewing Co, Boylan's Soda, DNA Energy Drinks & Snacks, Powertrip Energy Drinks, Realtree Energy Drinks, Woodchuck Cider, Strongbow Cider, and many more! Today, the company’s 150 employees use the latest in technology to serve more than 1200 customers in a market share that has grown past 60 percent. From new technology to community citizenship, Wayne Densch, Inc. continues to emphasize the bedrock of its rise to the top: quality equals success.
