Soft Shell or Shell-less Duck Egg (from one of our young new layers). While you do not want this on a regular basis, these fluke eggs tend to happen with young new layers on occasion. This is a great visual to see the inner workings of the egg as it is getting ready to be laid.

Blue Update: We made a trip to our marvelous chicken/pig/farm vet. Doc took care of the spot to help Blue eat better. Running test to see what is going on. OG Ginger being a great nurse for her hatch sister. These two and Guinea, Smallz, are all that remains of CC&Q's OG line up. These girls taught us a lot about the chicken world. The only thing certain is thst it is always unpredictable. How old were your OG's before you lost them???

Corbin's Clucks & Quacks showed up and took 2nd place for chicken eggs with our Black Copper Maran (Noodle) eggs. Pendulum crop doesn't stop her from producing some beautiful quality eggs. Corbin got the blue ribbon in Miscellaneous Eggs with our beautiful guinea fowl eggs from none other than Smallz! Another great year at the .regional.fair !!

Enormous Duck Egg! This giant egg came from one of our Saxony girls. The comparison is from a normal duck egg and the smaller Call Duck egg. Our first double yolk duck egg. One single yolk is the size of a large chicken egg. Corbin was glad to devour this in an omelet. Have you tried duck eggs before? If not, you are missing out!
