Downtown Sanford is coming together for the sloths. 🦥💚

After the heartbreaking rescue of 13 sloths from the failed “Sloth World” facility in Orlando, the team at Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens has been working nonstop to give these animals the care they deserve. Sadly, some have passed due to severe neglect and malnutrition, but the fight to save the remaining sloths continues. 🌿

To help support their medical care and rehabilitation, Sanford Main Street is selling “Help Us Hang In There” fundraiser t-shirts, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the sloth rescue efforts. 🙌

🚨 DEADLINE EXTENDED 🚨 Photo submissions are now open through Friday, January 30th at 11:59PM…and while we’ve received some fabulous Queen entries so far, we are officially calling on MORE KINGS to step up and enter! This is a great opportunity and honor to lead the Sashay Parade at Sanford’s 12th Annual Mardi Gras Festival on Saturday, February 21st from 4PM to 9PM! Put yourself in front of hundreds of locals and represent your business or yourself!

🎭 How to Join the Court:
Send us a photo dressed in your best Mardi Gras or New Orleans inspired gear! Beads, feathers, masks, and purple-gold-green flair encouraged! Submit your pic directly to the Sanford 12th Annual Mardi Gras Facebook Event Page to be entered and voted on!

👑 Royal Rules:
Kings and Queens must submit separately. Voting will be the same for both categories. The individuals with the most votes will be crowned King and Queen!

🎁 Fit for Royalty:
Winners receive the official King or Queen title, the honor of leading the Sashay Parade, loaded gift baskets, and a commemorative crown fit for Bourbon Street!
