The land is covered by her winter’s blanket. She lays still while resting, regenerating. Above the cardinals give the landscape colors of red, while song birds continue singing in their protective places. Below in the soil the workers continue working as they make the soil richer, more fertile once the blanket is removed and warmth returns to the earth. The animals lay snuggled in hay, out of the wind, staying warm and quiet as if they understand it’s the time of year to rest. It’s cold outside and those who work the land sits warm by the fire, resting, and prepping for the coming season.
To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven.

Thank you to our new friends at Selwyn Academy for stuffing the scarecrows and sending Mr. Kitchen to the farm to put them up. The weather, the decorations make it feel like fall. Now we need a pumpkin spice latte’. Classic fall in the country.
