Part of my ethos is combing the philosophies of psychological principles, traditional & functional medicine and food.
Emotions play so much more a part of how we eat than we realize.
Emotions are harbored in your body and if not addressed can manifest in ways that you may not even realize.
Below is a chart of body areas that emotions generally hide.
(Copied from Jules Horn’s FB post)
Take a look and see if any resonate with you.
Now take one area to focus on and think about the ways that it could influence how, when and what you eat.
I’ll give you an example…
If you have felt like you are not able to express your true emotions. You bite your tongue a lot in order to not “rock the boat”; you stay quiet, swallowing your opinions, wants and needs, you most likely will have issues in your throat area.
This may present itself as feeling like you have a knot in your throat. You may get a gag reflex with certain foods especially during certain circumstances.
Keep a journal. 📝
Track your feelings…write down how and when situations arise.
Then write down your food choices and times.
See if there’s any correlations🤷🏻♀️
Be well my friends…
Awareness is the first step towards change🙏🏼💕
