Cali Trip, Part 2/3: âmevive
Next stop: âmevive, where Alice Anderson put us straight to work.
We arrived after Alice had been up for a 1:00 a.m. harvest on about three hours of sleep, and we jumped right into w**emaking in action—punch downs, pump overs, and even foot-treading Sauvignon Blanc.
Getting to visit during harvest was pretty special. We weren’t just tasting the w**es and hearing about how they’re made—we got to be a small part of the process. So when the 2026s arrive in Georgia, we’re claiming they have a little BVS stamp on them. 🙃
After getting our hands (and feet) dirty, we tasted from barrel, previewed the fall releases, and sat down for an incredible lunch at the w**ery with produce straight from Alice’s garden.
We ended the day with shrimp burritos in Lompoc and sunset at Surf Beach. A pretty perfect harvest day.
Huge thanks to Alice and the âmevive team for welcoming us in during the busiest time of year, feeding us an incredible lunch, and letting us jump in and be part of the action. We can’t wait to share what’s coming next!
