Kim Ohanneson is a Certified Wh**ky Ambassador (British Innkeeping Institute, Glasgow) who shares tales, talks and tastings at corporations, organizations, and private events. praised Kim’s “encyclopedic knowledge of wh***ey” and her “exciting, energetic” tastings, which combine “lots of laughter along with the fun of learning.”

Airbnb recently invited Kim to share her knowledge of wh***ey, Los Angeles and California by creating and leading the Wh***ey Social as a "Trip Host" in their newly launched "Experiences" program. speakeasies, Golden State wh***ey producers and local distillery tours/cocktail classes. Kim is also the President of Women Who Wh***ey ~ Los Angeles which she launched in March 2016. The first California chapter of Women Who Wh***ey (an international wh***ey appreciation club), Women Who Wh***ey LA is also the largest chapter in the world, with 2400+ members. wWw LA also hosts occasional, "mixed company" Gentlemen's Edition events. Kim co-founded the bimonthly Wh***ey & Poetry Salon (with now Co-founder Emeritus Karolyn Kiisel) in November 2012. She continues to produce and host, either solo, with co-founder Johnnie "the Scot" Mundell (Beam Suntory) or visiting guest wh***ey brand ambassadors.

Join Women Who Wh***ey - Los Angeles to sip SEVEN award-winning, Macaloney's Island Single Malt Whiskies with Robin Morgan, International Brand Ambassador for Macaloney's Island Distillery on Wednesday, November 8th at 7:00 p.m. at Harlowe in West Hollywood.

Happy !

We can't wait for the weekend and we'll be dreaming about the delicious and refreshing summer cocktails that .cocktail.bandit will be demo'ing next Wednesday, August 16 at the Women Who Wh***ey Los Angeles x KIN Wh***ey event at 7:00 p.m. at Harlowe in West Hollywood!

KIN Wh***ey Brand Manager/cocktail creator Taylor Lax will taste us through KIN White Wh***ey and KIN Brown Bourbon. The brand, which was created by Taylor's father Brendan, is a fan favorite of L.A. bartenders! Come see why!

Taylor will taste us through the brand's signature spirits and demo three KIN cocktails so we can recreate them at home and refresh our end-of-summer entertaining!

Day #3 - The Highlands & Islands Distillery Tour

The lads at in definitely brought the craic!

John (white shirt) started off our ***eylosangeles group with a dram of the Pearse 5yo Single Malt and lead us on a tour of the very old distillery-adjacent graveyard: the resting place of several of founder Dr. Pearse Lyons's ancestors.

and I then toured the small but gorgeous distillery that was converted from St. James Church, which closed after lightning struck the steeple. All of the new stained glass windows depict distilling scenes; note the stills on the former altar in photo #5!

The former confessional is now the cheeky bar where we tasted Pearse Lyons Gins: The Ha'Penny Dublin Dry Gin, the Ha'Penny Rhubarb Gin, and the Mil Gin -- an Irish Pot Still gin with Mediterranean flavors and a fave. (Holy water, ha!)

Then we moved on to the ***ey with Grant (in the vest) who tasted us through: Pearse Original (5yo), Distiller's Choice (7yo), Founder's Choice (12), the Cooper's Select (gorgeous!), and the Marriage of Malt: the 2019 Distillery Exclusive, which was limited to 888 bottles and includes PX cask finished malts. The remaining Marriage of Malt bottles are exclusively for distillery tours and tastings and sadly, are no longer available for sale. We also tasted Pearse new make spirit.

Then, Grant started making cocktails....

Usually, the tour and tasting last an hour; we were there for about 3 hours before we wobbled off to board the What a send-off!

The final photo is the sky over the Irish Sea as we left Dublin on our first night on the boat.

Another serendipitous distillery surprise!

***eylosangeles arrived at in for our VIP tour (BIG THANKS to ***eysnob for hooking us up!) and were delighted to meet John Teeling* -- father of Teeling Distillery co-founders and and the man who broke the Irish Distillers monopoly.

After a tour with our extremely knowledgeable and hilarious guide , we enjoyed a fantastic tasting that, in addition to core range expressions, included:
• A Distillery Exclusive 23 yo Rum Cask 1998
• A Distillery Exclusive Single Pot Still
•Teeling Poitin

A round of delicious Irish coffees gave us the caffeinated fortitude to make it to the distillery's Bang Bang bar.

A fantastic visit to Dublin's first new distillery in over 125 years!

*John Teeling's charming wife Deirdre was also at the distillery. When I complimented Deirdre on the gorgeous ruby pendant she was wearing, Deirdre said it was a 40th anniversary gift from John who told me that my husband had to give me a ruby pendant for our 40th anniversary.

An unexpected visit from ***ey co-founder Alex Conyngham was a lovely surprise on our already fantastic tasting and tour of lead by our excellent guide and ace creator Claire!

***eylosangeles members enjoyed the chance to chat again with Alex, who we'd met during the U.S. launch, and to hear about growing up at beautiful (which we also toured!) around famous musical acts like U2, Thin Lizzy, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, and Bob Dylan who performed at . Great to spend time with Andrew Nicoll/RNDC and Ethan Nicoll.

A huge thanks to .jerzy and for making this visit possible and to for support!

Thanks also to founder Terry who provided transportation and enhanced our visit to the with visits to historical sites.

This delicious and insanely refreshing "Classico" G&T features , Mediterranean tonic, rosemary, citrus, star anise.

I restrained myself and only had two...I think.
