Always a special day when a fancy dessert shows up. Devil’s food chocolate cake, the perfect chocolate ganache (thank you, ), plus berries, crisped rice, and a very intentional drizzle of sauce.
Simple. Understated. Extremely chocolatey.

Made this for a special group visiting us from out of town, but perhaps we'll bring it back for an encore...

Gravesend Banh Mi, please!!!
I’m offering it two ways, because decisions are hard, and life should be delicious.
🥖 Sando: Lightly crispy bun, soft and warm inside (as bread should be). Juicy chicken thighs, pâté, a shower of herbs, pickled crunch, and two sauces; hoisin and sriracha mayo. Because this is America.
🍚 Bowl (my personal favorite, don’t tell the sandwich): Sesame sushi rice, all the banh mi magic, more forkfuls of pure banh mi goodness.
Dig in, folks. It’s feel-good food. No notes.

Plating crowd pleasing mezze platters for 100 at the incredible bookervineyards. Marinated Olives, Bresaola, Fennel & Quinoa Tabbouleh, French Feta, and Lots of good Bread and Olive oil... A good place to start for dinner!!

After months of planning, dreaming, tasting, drinking, and a few late-night “are we crazy?” moments… is finally here!
I’ll be in the kitchen cooking food we love to eat and share (which, let’s be honest, is everything), and Keith will be pouring wines with the enthusiasm of a man convinced there’s always time for “just one more taste.”

Chocolate-Banana Cake with Coconut Caramel Drizzle and Vanilla Buttercream… And surprise, it’s vegan!
Pretty, playful, and fun to decorate with chocolate chips, banana chips, edible flowers, and cake balls made from the rogue chunk that broke off during pan removal.
Because when cake gives you lemons (or crumbles), you roll them in frosting and make it cute.

Taking a break from recipe testing for to eat an actual meal—like, with a fork and such.
Grilled shrimp, Spanish-style (lots of garlic and smoked paprika), over forbidden black rice, and a jumble of veggie odds and ends including corn, cauliflower, cabbage, herbs, etc., aka “clean out the fridge and make it pretty.”
Saint K joined, obviously.... bringing the wine and moral support.
