A beautiful relationship started in such a short time by a heart and soul being led by the Holy Spirit.

Watch an untrained horse learn to trust in one unforgettable hour — and see how the same love that quiets fear can set us free too. Todd Pierce shows what happens when power meets patience and fear gives way to freedom.

I decided Mia needed a training reset!

I so enjoy Mia's desire and drive to move out and her sassy attitude. However, I started to see negative habits build in her mannerisms, attitude, patterns of movement and body control. She was becoming racey, lacking softness throughout her body and disregarding my requests to maintain a consistent gate.

I made the decision to defer endurance rides for 6 months. I am refocusing my training/ conditioning plan to focus more on proper body carriage, balance, implusion and developing the thinking side of her brain more.

Over the past 6 months I have been introducing her to a variety of new places and trails and I am switching back to riding familiar trails. This will allow her to focus more on herself and less on new surroundings. I will spend more time with off trail hill work, obstacle training and throw in some much needed arena work.

It is far to easy for me to get excited about the potential she offers and my own love of distance riding. However, Mia is only 6 years old and was wild the first several years of her life. It is my responsibility to curb my own enthusiasm and build her correctly.

The goal is to create a partnership where we are an extension of each other. Moving forward freely with quiet minds and strong balanced bodies. I got to experience bit of that today.....

Mia is such a great partner! She is a 6 year old Mustang mare out of the Stuart Creek, WY HMA.

I had to hold her back until about mile 7 when she settled in a bit and we could move out on a loose rein. I plan to take the next 12 months building her strength and conditioning at the LD level. Might as well add, that I need that time for my conditioning as well. Then my hope is to move up to 50s. Lord willing.....

Oh my gosh..... The holiday season is upon us! I know we have been quiet here at Grace Ranch Agua Dulce and for no good reason other than the same ole' "we have been so busy with life in general" concept.

There are some changes coming down the trail for Wild Cowgirl Horsemanship. Grace Ranch Agua Dulce will hit the "for sale" list come mid December. We are sad that we will be leaving this little piece of heaven on earth, for sure. That said opportunities do come up and after many conversations with our Father in Heaven, we have decided to make this move. Leaving the Agua Dulce/Acton area is the hardest part for us. We have made so many friends and feel blessed to have become a part of a wonderful community, if even for a short time.

Our primary residence will remain in Southern California, but won't be horse property. With that said, we are considering allowing Jesse (5 yr old Devils Garden bay gelding) out in a feed lease situation. If you are interested, please do reach out via DM.

James, our big sorrel mustang gelding is already placed in a similar situation.

Mi Alma (Mia) will travel with me.

John and I are so thankful for the many wonderful people that have touched our lives in the past 3 years. We thank you all for friendships and fun times.

We feel so happy to have landed in the Acton/Agua Dulce area. This community is amazing and we notice frequently how blessed we are to be here.

Thank you again Dana Colin for this wonderful piece of your work. I smile everyday that I get to walk past it and into my tack room.

Thank you Lord for this little gem of a community in NE LA County.

This 5 year old Mustang gelding is ready to leave the nest.... As you can see Beau has so much to offer.

I have a 5 year old mustang mare that Ashen Antal of Canyon State Horsemanship, LLC, recently started. I am very pleased with how open minded and willing this mare is and I contribute that to Ashen's training philosophy and the time she puts in with them. If you are looking for a mustang with a quarter horse build.... this one might be for you. Ashen has been keeping Beau ridden as well as hauling him along on her journeys. The price should only go up as she puts more time into him.
