For today’s Farm Friend Friday we’re introducing Autumn the dairy cow! 🐮☀️
She was adopted as a calve in 2021 along with Dandelion. She’s had two of her own calves named Winter and Mooney in 2023 and 2025! She often forgets how big she is and behaves like a dog, trying to play with people and occasionally knocking over the people trying to take care of her. She’s a rambunctious, bossy, and energetic cow.
Come visit her 8am-12pm this Saturday or Sunday!
Remember to get here early to beat the heat 🚨

Happy Farm Friend Friday Y’all! 🐷☀️
Today we’re introducing Polka Dot, a 2 year old Pot Belly Pig. She came to us as a rescue 2 years ago on the Forth of July. Polka Dot spends her days lounging around in piles of hay and mud, bossing goats around, and trying to escape into the bunny pen! She has been well loved by our summer campers served as an inspiration for many of our summer camp group names over her two years with us.
Come visit her this weekend any time from 8am-12pm (reduced hours for heat!)

For this Farm Friend Friday we’re introducing Bean! 🫘
Bean is a 6 and a half year old mini donkey and a favorite of our CIT campers! When he’s not displaying his seasonal fashion taste, Bean spends his time plotting mischief with his best horse friends Storm and Sky. They spend their time together trying to break out from turnout and getting up to no good! When they’re not plotting crimes together, Bean serves as an Emotional Support Donkey for Sky, who is a very nervous mare. We got him in October of 2024 and he’s been a wonderful source of joy, fun, and chaos since!
Come see him at camp by signing up for one of our last 3 weeks or visit him this weekend from 9am-2pm. Pro tip: get here early to beat the heat and avoid melting in the sun!

Happy Farm Friend Friday! Today we’ll be introducing Precious!
Precious is a 3 year old indoor-outdoor cat who spends her days mousin’ and following the dogs around. She was feral before we adopted her and was pregnant when she came into our care! She had 9 kittens and all of them were adopted, other than her son Moth who still lives on the ranch following his Mama around all day. Her favorite activity is pretending she’s a dog and begging for human food or sitting on top of cars like they’re her personal metal thrones!
You can come visit her this weekend from 9am to 2pm and celebrate the 4th of July in style, with a farm friend!

Happy Farm Friend Friday!
Starting today, every Friday this summer we’ll be spotlighting one of our animal friends that our Summer Campers love!
Anyone who visits the Farm is sure to get a warm welcome from Dandelion! He’s a Great Pyrenees who we adopted in 2021. Dandelion spends his days protecting our animal friends from predators with his scary bark, but is really a big ol’ teddy bear at heart. When he’s not modeling for Gilchrist Farm T-shirts, he spends his time playing with our other dogs, laying on top of tables, and providing cuddles to anyone who needs them! He’s also had a robust acting career, even starring as BINGO for Blippi’s educational songs. To watch Dandelion in action, go to youtu.be/uZTdfz6LnrE?feature=shared
His favorite activity is pretending he’s a kitchen rug and refusing to move out of anyone’s way for anything. This August, he turns 5 years old and we’ll be celebrating his birthday with our Summer Campers! Each year for his birthday, our Campers get to enjoy a water slide, do special Dandelion themed crafts, and sing happy birthday to their favorite camp dog!

It’s officially Summer Camp Season at Gilchrist Farm! 🐮🌈🌟

This week through AUGUST 7th our camp friends get to ride horses, meet the cows, pigs, goats, bunnies, chickens, ducks, and more! Learn archery and mounted archery. Learn traditional crafts of candle and soap making. Make lanyards and friendship brackets. Explore the farm! And enjoy the great outdoors!

Ages 5-11 for regular camp and 12-16 for our Counselors in Training!
