Took down all adult roosters but one to move the tweens in with the adults and the toddlers into the growing pen. Last year the roosters crushed most of our young hens trying to breed too early.

Four roosters turned into two pots of bone broth (backs, thighs and bones) and the breasts became ground chicken for the week.

I’ve been saving up asparagus and broccoli scraps in the freezer for this. And added some red onions. I’ll pressure cook the broth when it’s done, strained and jarred.
