East meets West on a Bangladeshi plate 🙂

A fusion asparagus-zucchini shrimp curry inspired by the way we cook vegetables with shrimp back home, just with Western vegetables and Bengali spices. Turmeric, cumin, coriander, garlic, ginger, and onion not only build deep flavor, but are also known for their anti-inflammatory, digestive, and immunity-supporting benefits. Smart cooking, comfort cooking, healing cooking.

Vegetable Khichuri - a taste of Bangladesh 🇧🇩

A simple one-pot meal of rice and lentils, cooked with homemade ghee, whole garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and ginger-garlic-onion. Rooted in Ayurvedic tradition, it’s nourishing, easy to digest, and deeply comforting.

This Bangladeshi style khichuri can be soft or fluffy like this, made with moong, mosoor, or mixed daals, and enjoyed vegetarian, vegan, or with meat, fish, or eggs.

A dish that reflects Bangladesh’s history, culture, and love for simple, wholesome food.

Chickpea curry.

Slow-cooked with onion, ginger, garlic, and warm spices — cumin, coriander, turmeric, and a gentle touch of chili.

Finished with cream and cashew for richness, and topped with fresh ginger and lemon leaves — soft, fragrant, and deeply comforting.

It can be made in different ways, lighter or plant-based, but always with the same intention… simple food that feels nourishing and complete.

Badhakopi bhaja( Stir fried cabbage with Bengali 5 spices)

Simple cabbage, gently cooked with garlic and panch phoron , a quiet blend of five spices: fennel, cumin, nigella, fenugreek, and mustard.

There’s something deeply comforting about this kind of food. Soft, warm, and full of aroma, the kind that fills the kitchen and stays with you.

Sometimes, the simplest dishes carry the most love❤️

Phulkopi–Aloo( Cauliflower-potato curry)

A simple dish, but one that carries so many memories.

Cauliflower and potatoes slowly cooked with spices that filled our kitchen growing up — the kind of food that didn’t need much, yet brought everything together.

This is the kind of meal that feels like home.

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Pakghar — The Kitchen.

Food has always been my love language.

What I cook comes from memory — from my mother’s and grandmother’s kitchens, from the flavors I grew up with, and from the journey of carrying those tastes across continents.

This space is where I share that connection, stories of making simple, home-style Bangladeshi food, rooted in culture, made with care, and guided by balance and intention.
