This knowledge has been passed down through generations, starting from its founder, Marcello Guidi, who left his Tuscan hometown of Lucca, and began his first operation in postwar Ethiopia in 1945. At the early age of forty-four, Marcello passed, leaving his oldest son Marco, then 19, with the responsibility of running the business. The business prospered, and in 1981, Marco, now acting as owner a
nd president of the company, relocated the headquarters of Guidi Marcello Ltd., to Santa Monica, California. The Los Angeles market was ripe and ready for a purveyor of fine Italian products and, with the support of his wife Ani, and later on, his daughter Gessica, Marco’s business evolved into a burgeoning enterprise, which grew to include a now long standing staff of employees. Backed by years of experience, credibility and excellent relationships in the business, Guidi Marcello Ltd.
