Most of us in Sonoma County are unfamiliar with Emus; many folks imagine them to be wild or aggressive in behavior. Here at the farm we know our resident Emus, Melbourne and Sydney are kind, curious, love water and are great at drumming! *female emus make a drumming sounds when excited* In these pictures, Sydney enjoys some company and caring pats from a friendly visitor, before enjoying a cool hose-shower!

Dora the Explorer has grown increasingly social over the past many months. Here, she bravely eats her breakfast of grass hay straight from hands of a young kiddo!

As you all know, in addition to the wonderful animal-assisted interventions we do at the farm with our youth, we also send them off with bags of fresh organic produce which they have helped grow and harvest. While youth are at the farm, we also always enjoy a snack together. These photos capture making fresh pesto with them, a dried corn-cob soon to be made into popcorn, and fresh picked bell peppers for slicing and sharing. Hands on experiences in caring community create everlasting memories as well also healthy eating habits to be carried well into the future.
