Petit Verdot may be best known for the depth, color, and structure it brings to traditional Bordeaux blends, but at Vincent Vineyards, we also bottle it as a single varietal.

It is one of the later Bordeaux grapes to ripen, typically spending more time on the vine before harvest. The result is a deeply colored w**e with concentrated flavor and considerable structure.

Growing our own fruit means we can stay closely connected to each block throughout the season, watching the vines from the first buds of spring through the final harvest pick. It gives us the ability to make thoughtful decisions in the vineyard with the finished w**e always in mind.

From canopy management and irrigation to the timing of harvest, every detail matters. That close relationship between vineyard and w**ery is what allows us to create w**es that are true to our estate and the place they come from.

Harvest isn’t decided by the calendar—it begins when the vineyard tells us the fruit is ready.

As harvest approaches, every block is carefully monitored for the balance of flavor, acidity, and ripeness that will shape the w**es of this vintage. Some rows are ready sooner than others; each vineyard has its own rhythm, and each pick is timed accordingly.

These decisions are among the most important we make all year. The moment the fruit comes off the vine sets the stage for everything that follows in the cellar.
