Y'all are literally not thinking about pumpkins right now AT ALL and I know it 😂 You're thinking about the Fourth of July + the lake + summer vacas… all the summer things. And honestly? Same. BUT….I am a farmer which means my brain does not get to live in the present like a normal person. My brain lives months ahead! Always.

So this week we have been planting pumpkins for fall harvest. Last year we grew seven 100’ rows of pumpkins. And I remember standing in the field last fall thinking, we should double this! So this year you know what I did? Doubled the pumpkin field - 14 100’ ROWS planned! Why? Did I need to? Absolutely not. Do I have a 10 acre farm + a deep love for growing pumpkins that cannot be explained or justified? Yes. Yes I do. 😂

October & November are going to be so good. I cannot wait for y'all to see all the gorgeous pumpkins we have planned!🧡

Alsoooo so much thanks to my hubbie Derek + his golf bestie Will for prepping the field while I was out of town for work & thanks to Peyton for being my planing buddy!

Buttercup is our self-serve flower shed where you can grab fresh-cut bouquets, candles, and gifts on the honor system! Only the flower shed is open to the public, not the full farm.

Park in the circle drive and walk right up the gravel pathway to the YELLOW SHED. Don’t walk up the grass pathway to greenhouse, no flowers there!

The hydrangeas are starting to trickle in and y’all, it makes me so happy! I love pairing them with lisianthus so their timing is almost perfect! I don’t think they’ll make it into this weekend’s bouquets, but probably the weekend after!

Do you love a hydrangea the way I do? I have to say they’re one of the first flowers I’ve been genuinely SOOO excited to see this season & been checking regularly to see if they are ready for me to cut! So when I found a few ready at 9:30 pm last night I just knew they had to come home with me!

Sometimes the flowers that come back year after year start to feel like old friends, and there’s real comfort in seeing them again! Anyone else have a flower that they just love to see each year? I’d love to hear which one!

Sundays are for Lowe’s planting shopping, y’all and that’s just what I did yesterday! There is nothing I love more than grabbing a drink + my kiddos and heading out to see what goodies the farm obviously neeeeeds. 😉Yesterday was a clearance plant shopper’s definition of success. I came home with hydrangeas, lilacs, and viburnum, plus some annual cuties for the landscape at home too!!

But my favorite part of the whole trip was this sweet mama duck who decided Lowe's garden center was the perfect spot to build her nest, right in the middle of the pink pentas! How sweet of them to make sure she stayed safe and protected while she does her mama thing. 🦆

Good plants + good people + a sweet duck nestled right in the flowers. That is a Sunday well spent!!

You guyyyyysssss lisianthus season is HERE! 🌸 I cut ALL of our first variety that was ready yesterday and I cannot get over it. The most precious white fluffy petals that look like they’ve been dipped in baby pink paint. Just precious!

This beauty is going in alllll of our bouquets at Buttercup this next weekend!

Why do we love lisianthus so much? Let me count the ways:

🌸 It’s gorgeous and ruffly and so rose-like!

🌸 It has a superrrrr long vase life! We fondly call it longggg lasting lisi! You’ll be enjoying these for a week and a half or more on your kitchen counter!

🌸 Buttercup is CLOSED today, Saturday, June 13th.….unfortunately I came down with a cold and need to take today to rest! As much as I hate closing, I’ve got work travel coming up next week and I know I need to listen to my body this time so I can get healthy and stay healthy! I’m SO sorry to anyone who was planning to stop by for flowers today. Thank y’all for always being so understanding & supportive when life happens!

I’ll be spending the day on the couch and trying to kick this cold as quickly as possible!
